Literary Legacies: Middle Schoolers Crafting Their Stories in the Library

Our middle school library recently organized a series of activities tailored specifically for middle school grade students. The diverse range of events aimed to not only captivate the students’ interest but also to provide them with a platform to express their thoughts and opinions freely.

Feedback Forum: One of the key initiatives undertaken was the implementation of a Feedback Forum. This interactive session allowed students to voice their opinions and share their views on the library’s collection.

First Book Written and Illustrated by Me: Fatima Jamshed, a creative eighth-grader, shared her insights on what motivated her to write her first book. This platform not only encouraged constructive criticism but also helped the library understand the preferences and interests of its users better. This served as a testament to the creativity thriving within our student body but also inspired others to explore their artistic and literary talents. Fatima’s accomplishment emphasized the importance of providing students with opportunities to express themselves beyond the conventional classroom setting.

Crossword Challenge: To add an element of fun and intellectual stimulation, a crossword challenge was organized, drawing active participation from the ninth-grade students. The challenge not only tested their knowledge but also encouraged healthy competition and teamwork.

National Library Week Celebration: In addition to the specific activities, students were also enlightened about the significance of the National Library Week, celebrated annually from the 14th to the 20th of November. This initiative aimed to instill a sense of pride and awareness about the importance of libraries on a national scale, further emphasizing the role they play in nurturing knowledge and intellectual growth.
